Next Gen Radio made me discover new aspects of myself that I didn’t know I had because it pushed me out of my comfort zone.

Exploring how to deal with audio editing programs, radio scripts and other important aspects of broadcast journalism made me understand that there is value in being versatile and eager to learn new skills. Personally, Next Gen Radio taught me about the importance of learning from mistakes and finding solutions first as an individual, and then as part of a team. Through this project, I now know that the memorable stories we read and hear are the products of dedicated collaboration among editors, audio engineers, writers, and photographers.

Next Gen Radio also taught me that storytelling goes beyond writing and that as an aspiring journalist, I can bring what makes me unique as a writer to create unique and compelling stories.
